A weekly skill building session where I attempt to make the (art)skill of soldering fun.

Week 01

Week 02

The Assignment (Short)

This is just the assignment from episode 02. If you want the demos on how to solder through hole components, watch the full version.

Full Episode (Long)

In this episode, Thomas (the coach) introduces the tools needed to solder through hole components. My soldering iron was a bit rusty, so some tip cleaner was needed. The assignment for this week is to find some cheap through hole components and solder them to a protoboard in four sessions of 15 minutes each.

Week 03

Practice Session of me soldering cheap though hole components to a protoboard. Played at 5000% normal speed. 4 x 15 minute sessions.

ledPhones

this is my project documentation for my microproject 01 in art 106.  I have been reading lately about how iPods allow one to bring along their own “world” with them as they walk around.  They are insanely popular around campus at SJSU and I even prefer to wear them.  Otherwise i listen to 15 half phone calls of people when I walk to class.  By wearing the ledPhones, you are saying, “yes, I am in my own little world and no, I don’t think your conversation is interesting.”  They flash at regular intervals to alert other students of their presence.  Much like the blinking of a bluetooth headset.
